BOGOR, 22 September 2026. A graduation ceremony is about far more than wearing a gown and receiving a certificate. Behind a single day of celebration lies a long journey, from classroom learning and practical training, through academic assignments and challenges, to hands-on experience in the industry itself.

That spirit shaped the atmosphere of the 2026 Graduation Ceremony of Sekolah Tinggi Pariwisata (STP) Bogor and Lembaga Kursus dan Pelatihan Bogor Hotel Institute (LKP-BHI), held on Tuesday, 22 September 2026.

This year, 116 graduates from STP Bogor and 32 graduates from the LKP-BHI 1 Year Hotel Operations program formally completed their studies, bringing the total to 148 graduates moving on to the next stage of their education and careers.

At STP Bogor, the 116 graduates of 2026 came from three study programs: 31 from the Bachelor of Tourism, 56 from the Diploma Three in Hotel Management, and 29 from the Diploma Four in Hotel Management. In terms of academic performance, the average GPA was 3.70 for the Diploma Three in Hotel Management, 3.75 for the Diploma Four in Hotel Management, and 3.63 for the Bachelor of Tourism.

Several graduates also recorded outstanding academic results. In the Diploma Three in Hotel Management, Annisa Zulfiah T., A.Md.Par. achieved a GPA of 3.86. Sri Rejeki, S.Tr.Par. was the highest achieving graduate of the Diploma Four in Hotel Management with a GPA of 3.97, while Ake Sita Fahrunisa, S.Par. recorded a GPA of 3.92 in the Bachelor of Tourism program.

Beyond academic results, the past year at STP Bogor was also marked by achievements outside the classroom. Among those contributing to this record were Azzuhra and Fadel, who represented STP Bogor in a range of competitions up to international level. Adinda, meanwhile, earned the highest number of TAM Points through her active involvement in student activities.

These results show that student life on campus is not directed solely toward practical experience, but continues to rest on a strong academic foundation. Behind the graduating students, a parallel process of development has also been under way among the teaching staff.

In its 2026 performance report, STP Bogor recorded a range of lecturer achievements across teaching, research, and community service. These included 17 intellectual property rights, 86 journal articles, 33 community service activities, and 14 books, with 15 lecturers involved as authors.

Those results form part of the institution's effort not only to develop its students, but also to encourage lecturers to keep growing through research, publication, community service, and engagement with industry. The same report reflects industry engagement through the presence of industry lecturers and a network spanning hospitality, airlines, and travel, alongside associations such as IHGMA, ASITA, ICA, HHRMA, and IHKA.

The link between education and industry is also visible in the experience of STP Bogor students who were given the opportunity to undertake internships abroad. Over the past year, STP Bogor sent students to join an internship program at Mandarin Oriental Taipei. For hospitality and tourism students, an internship offers room to build technical skills alongside adaptability, communication, discipline, and professionalism.

LKP-BHI, meanwhile, graduated 32 participants at the 2026 ceremony. Academically, the average GPA reached 3.64, with Rizky Putri Deswanti recording the best result at 3.93.

Notably, the LKP-BHI academic report also recorded that all 32 students, or 100 percent of the graduates, secured an Industry Placement to gain real working experience in the hospitality industry. In other words, a year of learning does not end once the academic process is complete. Graduates also get the chance to carry the skills they have studied into an actual working environment.

Flavianus Leinard Wistanu was named Best Trainee 2026 during his placement at The Gaia Hotel Bandung, while Muhamad Varis Allaika received the same recognition during his placement at The Residence Bintan. Such awards represent a form of industry recognition for the dedication and professionalism trainees show while carrying out their duties.

The 2026 Graduation also served as a meeting point between education, local government, and the tourism industry. The program featured remarks from the Head of the Bogor City Tourism Office, Drs. Firdaus, M.Si., and the Head of the Bogor Regency Tourism and Creative Economy Office, Ria Marlisa A, S.STP., M.Si.

The presence of both regional leaders formed part of the ceremony while also reflecting how STP Bogor and LKP-BHI are connected to the tourism ecosystem across the Bogor area. For a tourism education institution, relationships with local government, industry, associations, and other stakeholders are an important part of keeping education relevant to the needs of the tourism and hospitality sector.

As the program drew to a close, the Chair of the STP Bogor and LKP-BHI Alumni Association (IKA), Rizky Irvansyah, A.Md.Par., delivered a speech to the graduates. A message from an alumnus carried a meaning of its own as a closing note. After years of study, the graduates now enter a different phase: carrying their knowledge, experience, values, and the name of their alma mater into the professional world. Because the journey after graduation has, in truth, only just begun.

The achievements of STP Bogor and LKP-BHI over the past year show that hospitality education has a dimension far wider than classroom learning alone. Some students pursued academic distinction, some gained international internship experience, some earned recognition as Best Trainee, while lecturers continued to produce work through research, publication, intellectual property, books, and community service.

Ultimately, all of these processes lead to a single goal: preparing graduates to carry the skills and values gained during their studies into the real world.

For the graduates of 2026, that journey now continues.

Moving forward with knowledge. Working with heart. And carrying the name of STP Bogor and LKP-BHI through their work in hospitality and tourism.
