Bogor, October 28, 2026 – Sekolah Tinggi Pariwisata (STP) Bogor is a renowned campus known for producing graduates with the capability to become leading leaders in the hospitality world. Such values cannot emerge from theoretical or practical education alone. The education that is not written in the curriculum yet shapes a person is moral character, whether derived from religious education, ethics, or of course from emulating the heroes of this nation. That is why STP Bogor held a ceremony to emulate the virtues of Indonesia's heroes, more precisely the Indonesian youth as reflected in the historic Sumpah Pemuda of 1928.
STP Bogor indeed makes ceremonies a monthly routine agenda. On this occasion, the Sumpah Pemuda ceremony was conducted by the STP Bogor Student Senate and attended by the entire academic community of STP Bogor, with students, lecturers, and administrative staff all lining up orderly on the field. The ceremony was supervised by Aditya Sugih Setiawan, S.ST.Par., M.Par., commonly called Sir Adit. In his address as ceremony supervisor, he conveyed the message that "the youth Indonesia needs are not perfect youth, but honest youth." This value strongly reflects the spirit of Sumpah Pemuda, because the event that sparked Indonesian independence was not born from perfect and uniform youth, but from youth who set aside all their differences for an honest and sincere resolve. Sumpah Pemuda was declared by youth from different birthplaces, various ethnicities, and different mother tongues. Yet for one goal, they had to unite.
Their birthplaces differed, but their struggle and bloodshed were one, the homeland of Indonesia.
They came from various ethnicities, but set aside differences to become one nation, the Indonesian nation.
Their daily languages differed, but on that day they upheld the language of unity, Bahasa Indonesia.
All they did was not for personal desire, but for the common good. Their honest and sincere wish was one, the independence of Indonesia.

The values conveyed by Sir Adit were further reinforced by the reading of the Sumpah Pemuda text as part of the ceremony series. The reading was followed by all ceremony participants, so that the virtues and sincere resolve of past heroes would continue to be remembered and inherited by Indonesian youth, especially those of STP Bogor.
These values of Sumpah Pemuda find their most concrete relevance in the hospitality world. The hotel and tourism industry is an industry that brings together people from various birthplaces, ethnicities, languages, and beliefs every day, whether in the form of guests or colleagues. The spirit of the 1928 youth who set aside differences for one goal becomes a direct reflection of the attitude every hotelier must possess, namely serving every guest with respect regardless of background and working within diverse teams for one common purpose, which is delivering the best experience for guests. The honesty emphasized by Sir Adit also becomes the foundation of trust in this industry, because hospitality workers are entrusted with the comfort, safety, and even the belongings of guests during their stay. Without honesty, no matter how luxurious the service, it loses its meaning.
STP Bogor's commitment to shaping graduates who excel in both skills and character is a concrete reflection of the continuously improving quality of its hospitality and tourism education. Supported by active and qualified lecturers, the curriculum at STP Bogor remains consistently relevant to current labor market needs. This is a strong reason why 90% of STP Bogor graduates secure employment even before graduation.
