Bogor, 12 August 2026 — Sekolah Tinggi Pariwisata (STP) Bogor held its Opening Ceremony for new students of the 2026/2027 academic year on Wednesday, 12 August 2026, in person at the STP Bogor campus. The event was attended by new students from the Bachelor of Tourism, Applied Bachelor of Hospitality (D4), and Diploma of Hospitality (D3) programmes, each accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The Opening Ceremony, also known as the first lecture, is a regular STP Bogor event intended to introduce the campus environment: its facilities, student activity units, academic calendar, internship placement procedures, and organisational structure.

Dina Hariani, S.Hum., M.Par., Ph.D., Head of STP Bogor, was the first speaker, introducing the institution's vision, mission, and goals. She emphasised that for 27 years STP Bogor has remained committed to producing outstanding hospitality talent through practice-based learning, industry partnerships, and a broad alumni network. More than 90% of STP Bogor graduates are absorbed into the workforce, and many begin their careers even before formally graduating.

Next was Dr. Laurinciana Sambuanga Sampebatu, S.P., M.Si., Vice Head 1 for Academic Affairs. Her presentation focused on the 2026/2027 academic calendar, covering the teaching schedule, examination periods, and other key academic dates. This information helps new students and parents map out the rhythm of the year from the start of the semester so that no crucial moment is missed.

The focus then moved to general administration as Cindy H. Posumah, S.ST., M.Par., Vice Head 2 for General Administration, took the floor. She outlined the tuition payment scheme, accident insurance, use of shared facilities, and the teaching and support staff of STP Bogor. Several parents were seen taking notes and asking follow-up questions on the technical points raised.

Aditya Sugih Setiawan, S.ST.Par., M.Par., Vice Head 3 for Student Affairs, then delivered two topics: On the Job Training (OJT) placement and student activities. He explained the stages and procedures of OJT placement that students undertake as part of the curriculum, while encouraging new students to take an active part in student activities to develop soft skills beyond the classroom. Students were noticeably enthusiastic when overseas internship opportunities, such as those in Taiwan and Japan, were discussed. Because these require thorough preparation, new students can begin preparing now through a range of academic and non-academic activities.

Closing the ceremony, Karina Kartika Sari, S.E., presented the programmes offered by LKP BHI and STPB Training, including professional English classes for students wishing to deepen their competence and prepare linguistically for overseas internships.

The enthusiasm of the new students throughout the event showed their readiness to begin studying at STP Bogor. Parents and guardians listened closely, particularly during the presentations by campus leadership. With both present, the event was intended not only to prepare new students but also to give parents confidence that STP Bogor can guide their sons and daughters towards achievement in global hospitality.
